Generation Wonderful

Is it just me or do coworkers today really believe they are a gift to planet earth? I don’t know coming from the Northeast I was surrounded by people who believed you came to work to WORK. Not socialize, expect your coworkers to fill emotional voids or make one feel special. Granted,  I am well aware of emotional and social intelligence and to a degree socialization is needed unless you are a declared hermit, but expecting people to stroke one’s ego is down right ridiculous. This is what happens when everyone is told they are wonderful,  worthy, and deserving apart from the reality that the only reality that exist for their fellow employee is to be about their OWN survival in the concrete jungle. Generation Wonderful,  it is your responsibility to meet your needs. Not your coworkers,  not your boss or anyone else for that matter. If you are really wonderful don’t talk about it, be about it.

And, remember when not every single child, person, or group was a “winner”?! Work, what a concept. Responsibility? Hard to find these days!
